Celtic duo Callum McGregor and Greg Taylor have been named in the starting XI for this evening’s game between Scotland and Poland. The pair started the win over Ross County last weekend and will look to perform in the friendly to raise money for UNICEF for Ukraine.
There are a number of ex-Celtic players in the squad. The expectation is that Clarke will use these two friendly games – the second against the losers of the Austria v Wales clash – to test the depth of his team.

In goals, Craig Gordon starts. In defence, it is a back three of Kieran Tierney, Grant Hanley and Scott McTominay with Taylor and Nathan Patterson operating in the wingback roles. McGregor is joined by John McGinn and Billy Gilmour in the midfield three whilst Che Adams is partnered up top with Ryan Christie.
Taylor, a regular in Steve Clarke’s squads but rarely starting given his competition is made up of Andy Robertson and Tierney, will hope that he can seize this opportunity to play Poland with a view to increasing the amount of caps to his name.
Scotland were due to play Ukraine. However, Russia’s aggression and invasion meant that the game was postponed. The SFA and Ukrainian Footballing Authorities will liaise with FIFA and determine an appropriate course of action after the game was postponed.
