Team’s Up – Forrest and Welsh start, Kobayashi injury keeps him out

Brendan Rodgers has named his starting eleven for the second of the two tour matches in Japan, this time against mid-table J-League side Gamba Osaka. The Celtic manager has already indicated that as many players in the touring squad as possible will get game-time with a large number of substations, perhaps an entire team, coming on to play the second half.

This is Celtic’s fourth game in two recent tours to Australia and Japan and we are looking for our first victory today.

Joe Hart starts with the central defensive pair being Carl Starfelt and Stephen Welsh.  Tomoki Iwata fills in once again at right back and Greg Taylor is on the left of the Celtic back four.

The captain Callum McGregor starts with David Turnbull and Reo Hatate in the middle of the park and the front three are Liel Abada on the right, James Forrest on the left and Wednesday’s hat-trick hero Dizen Maeda playing in his new role at Celtic as the main striker.

Expect the subs all to get involved in the second half. On the bench for Celtic today we have Bin, Siegrist, Scales, Kyogo, Haksabanovic, Holm, Oh, Bernabei, O’Riley, Lawal, Vata, Kelly, Summers and McPherson.

Missing is Kobayashi who picked up an injury in the midweek defeat against Yokohama F Marinos.

Kick-off is at 11am Celtic Park Time and the match is available to subscribers live on Celtic TV all over the World but excluding Japan.
