Team’s Up – Idah in for Kyogo as Celtic look to wrap up the title

Brendan Rodgers has named his Celtic team for this evening’s Cinch Premiership clash against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park. The Hoops are in Ayrshire having lost twice already at the home of Killie in the League Cup and League but know that a point will secure the title.

The Celtic starting XI is as follows: Hart; Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Taylor; McGregor (c), O’Riley, Hatate; Forrest, Idah, Maeda.

After theRangers came from behind to beat Dundee at Ibrox yesterday, Celtic can win the league on the park with a point against Derek McInnes’ side. Killie have been a thorn in Celtic’s side this season, taking four points in three meetings in the league and dumping Rodgers’ team out the League Cup. Celtic will be hoping that they can do the business and sprint across the finish line this season.

That will set off wild celebrations across the Celtic family around the world this evening or in different timezones around the world. Outside Celtic Park, Rugby Park is Celtic’s favourite ground for winning the title and tonight Brendan Rodgers will be the latest to in the league there, with Jock Stein being the first back in 1969.

And the game after Celtic won the league at Rugby Park, Jock Stein took his Celtic side to Hampden to take on Rangers in the Scottish Cup Final and won 4-0! Hopefully history is about to repeat itself!

The Celtic team this evening to play Kilmarnock at Rugby Park is Joe Hart in goals, a back four of Alistair Johnston,  Cameron Carter-Vickers, Liam Scales and Greg Taylor. The midfield three are the Celtic captain Callum McGregor, Matt O’Riley and Reo Hatate and the from three are James Forrest, Adam Idah and Daizen Maeda.

Celtic XI: Hart; Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Taylor; McGregor (c), O’Riley, Hatate; Forrest, Idah, Maeda.

Celtic Subs: Bain, Palma, Kyogo, Kuhn, Nawrocki, Tomoki, Bernardo, Ralston, Welsh
