Team’s Up – Ideguchi and Abildgaard start in Sydney

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has named his starting eleven to take on Sydney FC in the opening match of the Sydney Super Cup which kicks off at 8.45am Celtic Park Time.

Ben Siegrist has the gloves, the back four are Anthony Ralston and Alexandro Bernabei as the two full backs with Carl Starfelt and Stephen Welsh in the centre of The Celtic defence.

Starfelt, Kyogo, Turnbull and Welsh all start today

Yosuke Ideguchi gets a rare chance, really looking forward to seeing him play, and Danish midfielder Oliver Abildgaard also starts in The Celtic midfield alongside David Turnbull. The front three are Liel Abada on the right wing, Kyogo through the middle and James Forrest, who captains the side on the left wing.

On the bench for Celtic today are Bain, Taylor, Haksabanovic, Jota, O’Riley, Robertson, Hatate, Lawal and Vata.

It’s clear that Ange is intending to give every player who has made the long trek to Australia adequate game-time so we’re likely to see some action today for the likes of Scott Bain and the three younger Bhoys who have made the trip, Scott Robertson, Bosun Lawal and Rocco Vata.
