Team’s Up – James McCarthy starts, Three Amigos in attack

Ange Postecoglou has named his team for this afternoon’s Premiership clash versus Aberdeen. Fresh after the defeat in Germany, the manager has made two changes with Nir Bitton and James Forrest being replaced in the starting XI.

In goals, Joe Hart continues between the sticks for the Celts.

In defence, Anthony Ralston starts at right-back. At left-back, Josip Juranovic starts. They are joined by defensive pairing of Cameron Carter-Vickers and Stephen Welsh.

In midfield, James McCarthy starts at the base of the Celtic midfield and is joined by David Turnbull and captain Callum McGregor. Nir Bitton misses out through injury.

In attack, Ange has opted to go with his Three Amigos – Liel Abada, Kyogo and Jota.

On the bench: Bain, Scales, Ajeti, Johnston, Soro, Forrest & Montgomery.

McCarthy, who has made just three starts for the club so far, will be hoping to use this as an opportunity to kickstart his Celtic career.

It is a big game for Celtic this afternoon, it will be emotional due to tributes to Bertie Auld. There will also be the added event of Scott Brown returning to Celtic Park.
