Team’s Up – Mooy returns as O’Riley drops to the bench

Ange Postecoglou has named his Celtic starting XI to take on St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership match at McDiarmid Park in the 12 noon kick-off which is being shown live on Sky Sports for those not at the match.

Joe Hart is in goals and surely he’ll be delighted to have heard that his manager is looking to extend his stay at the club if the big Englishman wants to remain at Celtic?

There are no surprises in the back four with Alistair Johnston, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Carl Starfelt and Greg Taylor all starting.

In the middle of the park the captain Callum McGregor is joined by Reo Hatate and Aaron Mooy, who surely will join Joe Hart in welcoming the news that Ange Postecoglou wants to offer him a new deal?

The front three are Jota, Kyogo and Maeda and hopefully the two wide players can swap positions during the game as Jota is a better player on the left but is likely to start on the right wing today. Maeda was outstanding in midweek and deservedly retains his place in the team.

On the bench today are Bain, Hakšabanović, Abada, Turnbull (also getting a new deal offered to him), Kobayashi, Oh, Iwata, O’Riley and Forrest.

The starting eleven is exactly as predicted on The Celtic Star on Friday and then again earlier this morning.

A strong team and a strong bench now for a strong performance to bring the three points home to Paradise and leave us nine points clear at the top of the league looking down on theRangers….

Here’s how St Johnstone line-up, please note that young Adam Montgomery isn’t available to play as the game is against his parent club, Celtic.
