Team’s Up – Simpson-Pusey handed surprise Celtic debut

Martin O’Neill has named what might turn out to be his last Celtic team selection for today’s vital Scottish Premiership match against Kilmarnock at Celtic Park in the fast approaching 4pm kick-off…

The Celtic squad come into this game on the back of that bruising Europa League reality check in Denmark on Thursday evening against FC Midtjylland.

With Callum Osmand out with a torn hamstring O’Neill is without the Celtic bright spark from his three games in charge against Falkirk, theRangers and Midtjylland and as a consequence there’s likely to be a door opening for Shin Yamada to feature from the bench against Kilmarnock as Celtic look to get the three points they desperately need as they chase down current league leaders Hearts.

It’s vital that those of us at the game do all we can to support the team and help the Bhoys get the three points. Hopefully one or two results go our way in the 3pm kick-offs. Wouldn’t it be lovely if Jim Goodwin and his Dundee United side could do us a favour at Tynecastle?

But it’s really all about Celtic taking care of our own business and getting the three points against Kilmarnock.

  1. Well, that’s a surprise selection!
    Saracchi – definitely.
Pusey – look forward to seeing him.
Front three – OK with that.
But that midfield- who is going to anchor it?
Hatate hasn’t had any consistency all season.
Macowan is decent but not really a battler.
So that leaves McGregor back defending more than attacking. Frankly, I don’t think that’s his strong suit!
Anyway, hope I’m wrong, I really do, we can’t drop any more points 🙏🏻

  2. At this stage, it’s about time we know what is going on regarding Paulo?
No forrest for yang, so could be interesting to see if yang has actually got more interest in playing with ourselves, than he has shown to date?

Didn’t expect Pusey to replace ralston, as though Donovan would have been favourite imo?
So hopefully he does well today.
Glad to see Saracchi in for Tierney, still think he has a better partnership with Seb imo.

Goals could be harder to find, the longer this game goes on, so would suit ourselves to get this result tied up reasonably early.
Still should have enough within us for another comfortable victory imo?
