Team’s Up – Tony Docherty named side to face Celtic

Tony Docherty has named his Dundee team for this afternoon’s game against Celtic. The 52-year-old was Derek McInnes’ long-term assistant but swapped the No.2 role to become the manager at Dens Park.

Now, he brings the Championship winners to Celtic Park with a view frustrating the home support.

Dundee Starting XI: 31. Carson, 2. Kerr, 3. Beck, 5. Shaughnessy (C), 9. Bakayoko, 12. Lamie, 16. Robinson, 17. McCowan, 19. Robertson, 21. Howley, 23. Boateng.

Subs: Legzdins, McGhee, Tiffney, Cameron, Ashcroft, Mulligan, Rudden, Sylla, Lewis.

The visitors will likely be looking to hit on the break and disrupt Celtic as much as possible.

Keep an eye out for Owen Beck at left back. The youngster is Ian Rush’s great nephew and is highly rated at Anfield. The Celtic Star Editor reckons he could be a future Celtic player.

Elsewhere, Brendan Rodgers has made two changes from the side that beat Rangers before the international break with Nat Phillips and Yang coming into the team.

Celtic: Joe Hart; Alistair Johnston, Nat Phillips, Liam Scales, Greg Taylor; Callum McGregor (C), Matt O’Riley, David Turnbull; Yang, Kyogo, Daizen Maeda.

On the bench: Bain, Lagerbielke, Palma, Holm, Oh, Bernardo, Hatate, Forrest, Ralston.

Come on Celtic.
