Team’s Up – Two Celts start for Scotland

STEVE CLARKE has named his team for Scotland’s must-win EURO 2020 play-off final versus Serbia. The Scots are in Belgrade with 90 minutes between them and ending a 22-year hiatus from a major tournament. Clarke has named two Celts in his starting XI – Ryan Christie and Callum McGregor.

In goals, former Celtic ‘keeper David Marshal starts. The defensive line is made up of O’Donnell, McTominay, Gallagher, Tierney and Robertson.

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths is also on the bench. The 30-year-old striker will be hoping to come on and seal a place in the history books as Scotland chase qualification.

Scotland managed to overcome Israel on penalties after a dogged 0-0 draw at Hampden last month. The Serbs meanwhile managed to overcome Norway, who played Celtic duo Elyounoussi and Ajer. France ’98 was the last time Scotland made an appearance at a major tournament and they could find themselves becoming national heroes by booking a place in the European Championships next summer.

Come on Scotland!
