“Thank you Jota, fly kid,” Benfica Insider. Celtic announcement looks imminent

With the Celtic fans desperate to hear the news that our two loan Bhoys have signed on the dotted line, an account claiming to be an insider for all things Benfica has appeared on Twitter wishing the player the best of luck. This comes after several reports – including that of Scott Burns at Daily Express – that the winger should be a Celtic player soon and so should Cameron Carter-Vickers.

The clamour for news surrounding the futures of both Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers has been non-stop, and this latest update has fans awaiting an announcement from Celtic at any moment that the Portuguese superstar has committed his long-term career to the Parkhead club.

Patience has been the keyword for the pursuit of these deals, with everyone connected seemingly cool, calm and collected about the formalities being concluded. The support are really desperate for the news to break that either one or both have decided Celtic Park is the place for them this coming season and years beyond.

Boss Ange Postecoglou is holidaying in Greece with his family currently, suggesting he seems to be assured that the deals will be merely a case of dotting the t’s and crossing the i’s. But as always, the fans are the ones who face the agonising wait to finally see their heroes hold aloft that beautiful green and white scarf wearing the Hoops.

Hopefully all signs lead to Home…

Translated, the tweet reads: “Thank you Jota, fly kid…looks like he’s on his way folks.

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
