The brilliant Celtic factor behind Joe Hart’s decision to retire

Joe Hart has explained the reasoning behind his shock decision to retire at the end of the season. The 36-year-old announced that he would hang up his gloves at the end of the current campaign, bringing to an end three years at Celtic.

The former Manchester City stopper explained that the years between leaving City and arriving at Celtic had him searching for something, which he would find at Celtic. Having enjoyed a love affair with he club, he will leave on his terms without the need to continue searching.

In a decorated career that began at Shrewsbury, Hart has played at the very top of the game and it is testament to his character that he battled through that tough period and found a home at Celtic.

After the difficulties of the Covid season, Celtic were in need of leaders in the dressing room as well as on the pitch. Hart arrived and delivered from his first day in the building. The enthusiasm he has for the game would not be wilted by a tough spell between clubs after Pep decided to cast him aside. Now, his intention is to go out on his terms having found Paradise. Hopefully his teammates will use his impending departure as the catalyst for an upturn info form.
