On This Day in 2002, Martin O’Neill’s Celtic took his team to face Graeme Souness’ Blackburn Rovers. After the 1-0 game at Celtic Park in the first-leg, Souness conducted O’Neill’s team talk by saying that the English Premiership were ‘men against boys’ against Celtic as a single goal from Henrik Larsson.

Henrik Larsson and Chris Sutton capped a famous win as Rovers were out-fought, out-played and out-sang by Celtic. It would be a result that pushed Celtic towards Seville and one that would show Souness up for being a loud mouth yet again.
