The day Ange was louder than Celtic Park – “Stop passing it back”…”Wooo”

When our leader Ange Postecoglou took over the reins at Celtic Park, none of us really knew a whole lot about the man in fairness. He had mainly managed in Australia and Asia; though some may have remembered him from his time the Aussie national side and his fantastic Asian Championship Cup win.

Fast-foward to May last year and Angelos Postecoglou had brought our entire football club back from the brink and delivered success we could have only have dreamed of at the start of the domestic calendar. With a League trophy and League Cup in the bag, Celtic supporters began to realise that the man of Greek origin was different from the pack. To steal a phrase from Mr Mourinho, he was “a special one”.

Tom Rogic was the only player who had previously worked with the boss when he came to Lennoxtown and had his fellow pros asking him for the lowdown on the newest sherrif in town. Tommy obviously knew straight away that we’d be in safe hands, having been part of that Australia side that were proving the doubters wrong and breaking down barriers and glass ceiling’s for their beloved country.

Now Paramount have released a teaser trailer that gives an insight into how Ange changed Australia’s national team for the better. It delves into his management style and how he is with his player’s as a coach. Some commentary is provided from various players including Aaron Mooy and Tom Rogic. Tom reveals during the video that “his motivational speaking is right up there with the best I’ve heard”.

Various other high-profile figures like Tim Cahill and Mile Jedinak also race about Ange and his vision of how the game should be played. Furthermore, they talk of the big man’s unwavering self-belief and commitment to his county during his time as manager. The documentary looks like a must see for all fans of the Parkhead club!

Take a look for yourself….

“That video of Ange losing the nut when he was managing Australia in the cup reminds me of this – the 4-0 win at home to Raith Rovers”…

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
