The €9m asking price for reported Celtic midfield target

Celtic have been told that they will need to pay €9m to sign Lennon Miller, according to a report. The update comes from distinguished French outlet L’Equipe, who advise that Strasbourg have entered the discussion to sign the talented Motherwell midfielder, who was recently included in the Scotland squad for upcoming friendlies.

The report, which was published on Friday, appears to suggest that Motherwell are holding out for around £7.5m to sign their midfield star. This fee appears to be excessive, especially given that Miller is about to enter the final year of his current deal.

The 18-year-old has made 76 appearances for the Fir Park club, amassing 11 assists and scoring 5 goals. The performances in the midfield for Stuart Kettlewell’s team caught the eye with Celtic reportedly making an approach in January. Michael Wimmer replaced Kettlewell in February and has admitted that he’s realistic about keeping the player, who is destined for the top.

Celtic are expected to dip into the transfer market to make three or four signings, before looking at letting any of the current team depart. Of course there will be a refreshing of the first team, with Kieran Tierney arriving and a number of fringe players expected to leave.

  1. Well if Engles is worth 11 million, then I guess this is where we are at now.

Personally I think Miller is 4 to 5 million player, Engles maybe 6.

We need to get a better scouting team. Too many flops and too many over priced players. Kvistgarden is also being priced way too high for a player who has had 1 good season, just like Idah.

Let’s face it The Japanese players were Ange’s finds.
McCowan was a shrewd bit of business and Sinisalo looks a good move.

The recently published weekly wages of each player should be an eye opener for anyone reading it.
So many players on big money that most of us have forgot are even on our books.

The club needs to clean out all this dead money and re-invest it wisely. I won’t hold my breath.

Spot on Dan imo we should avoid buying from over priced leagues and seek out bargains in the still under valued markets of Japan and Korea , unfortunately i don’t think Rodgers agrees , Hail hail .
