“The only thing I don’t like is the condescending nature of the questions,” Postecoglou Rounds on Hacks

Celtic play Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League Group stages but for some of the hacks at the Celtic mainstream media conference today all they really wanted to talk about was Celtic falling behind in the Scottish Premiership with theRangers, their declared Champions for season 2021/22, before the end of September.

“Some people just want to be condescending towards me, they have been from day one, they probably don’t think that I deserve to be in this spot,” the Celtic manager stated when re returned to this theme for the second time towards the end of today’s Mainstream Media Conference.

“These people are not your friends but the Celtic support is 100% behind you, regardless of what they tell you,” that incidentally from this site to Ange at the end of June.

On the injury situation, the Celtic manager confirmed that Callum McGregor, Kyogo and Giorgios Giakoumakis all trained today and likely be involved in the squad tomorrow night, although none are likely to start. Asked for a percentage on all three starting Postecoglou confirmed that would be zero and it’s more likely that Callum McGregor and Kyogo could be involved at Pittodrie on Sunday lunchtime.

James McCarthy has recovered from his knock against Dundee United at the weekend but Josip Juranović will be in rehab for a few weeks with a hamstring problem. James Forrest and Christopher Jullien have already been confirmed as being out until after the international break.

Ange confirmed that Callum McGregor will join up with the Scotland squad and also that Kyogo has been selected for Japan. It was of course on international duty in the match against China that Kyogo got injured so surely Celtic will be reluctant to allow him to go away again before he’s had 90 minutes under his belt at club level?

As  you have probably gathered the Celtic fan media are excluded from first team media events, despite assurances that that would not be the case. Getting to ask one question each to the new signings or as happened the other day to the captain who signed a new 5 year contract ,is the extent of it, with the Celtic staff known to be continually aggressive in their behaviour towards the fan media. Strange that they never seem to adopt this stance with these hacks who the manager believes are condescending with their questions and who don’t believe that he should even be in the job as they declare the league race over before October.

Their view that Ange does not deserve to be in his job is NOT an opinion that is shared by many – if any – Celtic Supporters and it’s probably safe to say that the entire Celtic fan media are all 100% behind Ange Postecoglou. Any wishing to correct us on that claim please let us know and we’ll amend the article to clarify.
