“The priority is fitness, but we are also looking at intensity,” Brendan Rodgers

Interesting line up in, Reo the man to solve the temporary right back problem?

The team line up has just been announced to face Yokohama F Marinos in the friendly due to start in under an hours time in Japan and it looks an attacking side indeed.

With Sead Hakšabanović, Daizen Maeda and Liel Abada up top supported by a midfield trio of Tomoki Iwata, McGregor and O’Riley. Defence is where the real surprise lies. Starfelt and Kobayashi isn’t really that a surprise, neither is Taylor at left back, but Reo Hatate at right back raised a few eyebrows.

Well should it? Assuming he is playing there, and it looks highly likely, Reo has experience of playing there before at the club. Remember the Christmas Eve clash with St Johnstone last year? Reo was deployed there and put in a man of the match display. Scoring two goals and was unlucky not to grab a hat-trick.

So maybe he could be a temporary solution to our problematic right back problem, just for the meantime anyway. It’s not the worse idea.

I see that Lubo98 has just posted his Team’s Up article on The Celtic Star and is suggesting that Reo will be in the middle of the park and it will be Tomoki who will be at right back. He is of course returning to his former club today alongside Daizen Maeda so both will be very anxious to impress!

Daizen you would imagine will get 45 minutes through the middle with Kyogo getting his change to lead the line in the second half.
