Brendan Rodgers has named his first Celtic team of his second era in charge of the Hoops gets underway this morning (Celtic Park Time) as the club’s Japan Tour gets underway at the Nissan Stadium in Yokohama. Kick-off is at 7pm local time in Japan and that’s 11am CPT with the game being shown live on Celtic TV to all subscribers.

Daizen Maeda and Tomoki Iwata both start against their former club and Yuki Kobayashi in back in the side to play alongside Carl Starfelt. Reo Hatate also played but rather surprisingly Kyogo is kept on the bench.

It looks like a back four of Iwata, Starfelt, Kobayashi and Taylor. In the middle of the park there’s the captain Callum McGregor, Matt O’Riley and Reo Hatate and the front three are Liel Abada on the right, Daizen Maeda through the middle and Sead Hakšabanović on the left.

Subs are Bain, Siegrist, Scales, Kyogo, Turnbull, Oh, Bernabei, Lawal, Vata, Kelly, Forrest, Summers, Welsh and McPherson.

It is useful to see how the team set up this morning as Rodgers looks to put his stamp on the team. After winning the treble last season under Ange, the Irishman will look to implement his own style on the team as they look to enjoy continued success.
