The truth hurts, Michael. You lost again because your team is not good enough

Del Boy Trotter was a lovable cockney rouge who could sell sand to the Arabs or refrigerators to Eskimos, or even crucifixes to theRangers supporters, sorry I’ve taken that too far!

Anyway Michael Spiel like Del Boy is a lovable cockney, well to theRangers supporters he is. He has been spouting a lot of nonsense since he returned to Ibrox as manager, it just rolls from his tongue and the Ibrox natives lap it up. In his post match comments after the latest Glasgow Derby defeat he sold them another whopper, one Del Boy himself would be proud of.

He claimed that theRangers lost the game due to VAR blunders. It was ever so convincing even the higher hierarchy at Ibrox wrote to the SFA demanding answers! It’s the classic squirrel. Something they are rather good at over at Ibrox way.

Alfredo Morelos’s disallowed goal was admittedly a soft decision, but it’s not a clear and obvious error, sorry error being the wrong word as it wasn’t wrong. Many sides have been on the end of decisions like that. By the letter of the law it’s a foul, end of story. No goal.

The other thing that incensed him was our second goal when he complained about Jota using a ‘hand’ to control the ball. He and James Tavernier were the only ones who seemed to see this. No one complained at the time. Bizarrely both spiel and Tavernier maintained it was still hit Jota’s hand even after watching a replay. In turn convincing many Rangers supporters it was. The ball quite clearly hits Jota on a delicate place, only those who are deluded see something different.

The simple fact is that Rangers lost the game because they weren’t good enough. Celtic weren’t at their best either, but had more quality. That’s the honest truth. Ben Davies and John Souttar’s inability to defend properly cost them the game, Allan McGregor having the pace of ‘captain Tom running round his garden’ as one twitter user hilariously put it was another.

Rangers set up like a team with limited ability. Their main aim was to stop celtic playing. Mix that with their weakness in defence and it’s not rocket science why they lost. Celtic were clinical and punished them for their mistakes.

That’s the story of the season and why Celtic will soon be crowned champions. Celtic are by far a distance the better side. Rangers aren’t a quality side and their mistakes have cost them, not officials, but their players and management, that’s who are to blame.

Michael knows his audience and knows how to fool them. Like Del Boy he can sell them anything, and they buy it. Good luck to him I say, more the fool them.

Happy Easter Monday everyone!
