Tie ups like the one with Admira Wacker is a step in the right direction

Tie ups like the one with Admira Wacker is the way forward…

Celtic recently entered a partnership with Austrian side Admira Wacker which will see young talent from both sides experience football in a different country with Admira youngsters coming to Glasgow and vice versa.

From our point of view it will give our youngsters a great opportunity of playing and training in a different country, albeit in the Austrian 2nd division, but a decent level all the same. Much more beneficial for the youngsters than lowland league or youth football.

Admira also have a good reputation in Austria for developing young talent so it bodes well for our youngsters to get that sort of experience. We might even see a few youngsters that come over form Austria that catch the eye and end up with the club.

This is certainly a big step forward, and It’s the sort of thing we should be looking further into and maybe even linking up with a few other clubs throughout Europe and even further afield, a bit like the City group alliance. It’s an idea worth considering.
