Celtic poised to complete £4.3m deal to sign defender

Celtic are poised to complete a £4.3m deal to sign Maik Nawrocki from Legia Warsaw. The Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has been eager to add quality to his side in the transfer window and the latest arrival is set to be the 22-year-old.

According to Sun Sport, Nawrocki is in Glasgow and awaiting the green light to complete his move. The player was pictured along with new signings Yang Hyun-jun and Kwon Hyeok-kyu, who were announced on Monday. It is expected that the next signing will be announced imminently given that personal terms and a fee have been agreed.

In 60 appearances, Nawrocki has assisted 4 times and scored on 5 occasions but it has been his powerful displays at the back that have sparked interest from across Europe with Celtic set to win the race to bring the Polish defender to Paradise.

Whilst Nawrocki is predominately a central defender, the 22-year-old can also play on the right side of defence. Along with Hyun-jun and Hyeok-kyu, Rodgers has also added Norwegian kid Odin Thiago Holm and Australian winger Marco Tilio.

Elsewhere, Cameron Carter-Vickers has returned to training as the Scottish Champions prepare for their league opener against Ross County next weekend.

CONFIRMED DEAL…Celtic have signed Legia Warsaw centre-back Maik Nawrocki for £4.3m.
