TikTok Video: ‘New Ange Postecoglou chant’ – Actually stolen from Celtic fans

A Tottenham Hotspur fan account has posted a video showing off Spurs fans singing the ‘new Ange Postecoglou chant’. It seems that the ‘#NoToAnge’ trend pushed by Spurs fans didn’t last long following Ange leading Tottenham Hotspur past Manchester United in a 2-0 victory at home yesterday in the Premier League. After the match, a video was taken as fans were exiting the stadium singing Celtic’s ‘Ange Postecoglou song’.

However, not only do the English fans lack originality and resort to stealing Celtic’s song, they claim that they created the song and that it is new, as the caption of the video posted by the Spurs fan account read: “New Ange Postecoglou chant”.

Has anyone actually explained to them the origins of this song?

  1. It’s not like every football song or chant is exclusive to Celtic fc and should only be used by their supporters. Didn’t you lack originality when you stole You’ll never walk alone off Liverpool fc and I also seem to remember your supporters doing the Poznan in recent years too. Please let me know if I’m wrong?

  2. ‘New’ = New to THFC & nobody in North London is claiming they’re ‘Lennon & McCartney’ for the lyrics.
If you want royalties for the cover version, think you’ll find not a single UK court would grant them, most football chants are not exclusive & are often borrowed & adapted by other clubs, like Celtic fans singing a Liverpool chant?
Please at least write something little more newsworthy & credible.
