Time for Adam Idah to start justifying massive transfer fee

Adam Idah was a superb addition to last season’s squad and was very much instrumental in our success as his vital goals were key in our league and cup double.

Adam eventually signed permanently after weeks of negotiations for a fee believed to be in the region of £9.5 million.

So far Adam hasn’t exactly justified that fee and has had to make do with regular appearances from the bench, and the odd start now and again.

The size of the fee isn’t down to Idah. Celtic usually do well in these type of transfer negotiations but in this instance Norwich City played their hand brilliantly.

Even with Kyogo not firing on all cylinders, Adam has still failed to take advantage and looks a shell of the player he was during his loan spell.

That is not acceptable as his massive transfer fee demands that he produce more on a regular basis. £9.5 million might not be a lot in the world of English football, but up here it’s a big deal, and we quite rightly expect a lot more from him.

Is the size of that fee weighing on his mind?

Adam could well start today with it being the start of a busy fixture schedule, and he has got to start producing the goods. He has now got to start justifying that transfer fee, let’s all hope he does just that starting today.

  1. Always felt we paid way too much in the first instance.
Wasn’t to bothered, as thought idah was a signing for the longer term in mind, moreso than this quick turn around for profit, that has been in existence for to long imo?
But not getting the return on the outlay, upon the playing field is fairly disappointing to date.
Has still contributed in a goals return, but bigger contributions are still required within his all round game also, especially with his hold up play, and a target man also imo?

  2. We’re getting nowhere near enough out of Idah for the money we spent on him.
He needs to extract the digit pronto.

    • Celtic fans were crying out for the Club to spend more on players . 10 million is not going to get you much when buying in the English market or any other for that matter. So it’s not massive money in the current market. Trusty and Angels have also been average and cost similar money, but Idah has been singled out now a few times by yourself and others.
