Time to make it official, and let’s do it in some style…

Today is the day Celtic can finally clinch our fourth consecutive league title as we head to Tannadice to take on Dundee United.

It’s a venue we’ve won the title on two previous occasions this century. A Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink goal won us the title in a dramatic night back in 2008, and secondly a Giorgos Giakoumakis effort helped us to a 1-1 draw that secured the first title under the leadership of Ange Postecoglou back in 2022.

Today we could make it a 21st century hat trick of title celebrations in Tayside, although admittedly it will be tough as Jim Goodwin’s side have been in terrific form this season as they bid for a third place finish.

Our last outing at Tannadice is testament to that as we failed to breach a stubborn Arabs defence in a 0-0 stalemate back in December, and although a similar scoreline today would see us over the line, we should be looking to win the game, nothing less.  With Jim Goodwin likely to park the bus it could be a frustrating watch unless we get that early goal to open up the game.

A draw will be good enough for the mathematics, but we want to put on a show and show everyone we fully deserve to be champions, similar to last season when we thumped Kilmarnock at Rugby Park to clinch three in a row.

I’m confident we can do just that. We play at our best when we need to win and today is one of those days. Let’s do this Bhoys, and let’s do it in some style.

Piling on the agony, putting on the style is the Celtic way of winning trophies in this golden era for Celtic and the Celtic support. Lap up every second of it and maybe we’ll see you back at Celtic Park later today for what should be quite a party!
