LAST WEEK it seemed inevitable that Neil Lennon would be relieved of his duties as Celtic manager but two games and no wins later, Celtic find themselves 13 points behind Rangers with two games in hand. The Scottish Champions quest for 10IAR is stuttering and stalling with just two wins in twelve games.
A desperate Celtic looked lethargic and unimaginative, which has been the story of the season so far. The Irishman, who has given twenty years of loyal service to the club, asked for time to turn the results around but as the shocking run extends, it looks as if his time is finally up.

Everyone saw this coming. Everyone but the blinkered suits. The board have gambled the second biggest achievement in our history. They are every bit as culpable in surrendering ten than the unmotivated players and oblivious inept management. That's your legacy now Peter.

Lennon is a club legend and deserves our eternal respect for what he has given the club but that shouldn’t be a qualification for the manager’s role at the club. The board need to act or else Rangers will have the huge financial boost that a run at the Champions League brings. This has been ten years in the making and instead of being proactive and aggressive, Celtic were neither. It was a sad predictable performance and it will have been gleefully accepted in Govan.
Ten in a row is hanging by a thread. The board can gamble and go for it by bringing someone else in or they can resign themselves to red, white and blue ribbons in May.
There will be no one celebrating a manager losing their job, not least a club legend but the time afforded to Lennon based on past glories has expired and now Peter Lawwell needs to earn his scandalous wage packet and bring in someone to win the league. Stick or Twist, Celtic.
