Former Celtic Midfielder, Tom Rogic is nearing a free transfer move to West Brom following his departure from Celtic at the end of last season. Rogic spent a fabulous 9 years in Paradise, where he made 271 appearances, won 16 trophies, scored 46 goals for the Hoops and earned his place as a much loved Celtic legend.
In the summer of 2018 Rogic signed a 5-year contract with Celtic. However, he left Paradise before that contract ran its course. At the time, he explained that his departure was to allow him to step outside of his comfort zone in the Scottish League and take on new challenges.
When asked if he had any immediate plans to move elsewhere, the Australian star said: “I’m not sure yet. Now isn’t really the right time – I’ll just reflect on the career I’ve had here. I am ready for a new challenge and a change of scene is something that will motivate me. I’ll sit down with my agent in the coming weeks and discuss my options.”
Rogic had a brilliantly successful career at Celtic, and certainly caught the eye of a handful of clubs that were interested in signing him previously, for example Arsenal, though he didn’t want to leave Celtic. However it seems Rogic will now be heading to the Midlands to play in the Championship with West Brom.
Tom Rogic will also have one eye on the upcoming World Cup and be looking to reclaim his spot in the Soccesoos squad for Qatar.
