“Top of two leagues”: Celtic fans delighted following comfortable win vs Motherwell

It’s funny how quickly football can turn. Not long ago we saw a lot of anger as Celtic went down to Livi, Christopher Jullien made comments about being scared and there were some suggestions that the Rangers might not relinquish top spot.

Obviously they threw that away at the first available opportunity, but we’ve seen Neil Lennon settle on an exciting line up that looks like scoring goals every time they go forward.

The emergence of Mohamed Elyounoussi and Jeremie Frimpong has been particularly impressive to watch, but Lenny has his team top of the Premiership and their Europa League group so everything looks very good just now.

The fan reaction on Twitter after the win over Motherwell seems to show an extreme level of satisfaction all round:

It was important to win against Motherwell today and ensure they stayed top of the league. Obviously some would expect a few more goals, but the fact that Motherwell haven’t been credited with a shot or target speaks volumes.

The attacking performances have been great to watch in recent weeks, but Lenny and his coaching team deserve huge credit for turning the defence around. It’s gone from looking like an obvious weak spot to dominating their opponents and looking solid.

The fans can now relax and enjoy looking at both sets of league tables for the next few days.
