“Total respect, but still work to do” – Chris Sutton on the form we have found

Chris Sutton reacted to Celtic’s recent run of results along with our emphatic 4-1 victory over St Johnstone away from home in the Scottish Premiership this Sunday afternoon. The Hoops were in cruise control and managed to hammer the Saints without ever really having to put our foot to the floor.

The only sloppy part of the game today was when Reo Hatate was caught in possession today which in turn led to Callum Davidson’s men pulling a goal back, thanks to a wonderful long-range strike from Drey Wright. Even at that, Joe Hart should probably have saved it looking back on the goal, but we still overturned them in the end.

Sutton was effusive in his praise of the Bhoys today as he took to Twitter after the game to give his post-match reaction. The big Englishman also mentioned the wonderful consistency with which Celtic and Ange Postecoglou are swatting aside opponents with these days, whilst at the same time acknowledging the work that lies ahead in the domestic calendar.

The Celtic legend said: “I thought today might be tricky for Celtic… what do I know!!! What has been incredible is the high standards and level of performance this current Celtic team keep churning out week after week. It’s really not an easy thing to do. Total respect… but still work to do.”

Another one bites the dust… next please!

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
