“Celtic at its best”- Kyogo reacts to goal celebration

After his wonderfully taken goal against St Johnstone today at McDiarmid Park, Kyogo Furuhashi has taken to social media to reveal his delight at the celebration towards the Celtic fans behind the goal earlier this afternoon.

The Japanese striker has been in red-hot form recently and his latest goal puts him at 19 goals in the Scottish Premiership this season. The reason the freshly departed Greek forward Giorgos Giakoumakis saw very limited game time of late had been largely down to the unstoppable form in front of goal of the former Vissel Kobe man.

With his current form, if he manages to keep this up he is a certainty to come away this season’s highest goalscorer in the cinch Premiership league. Giorgos Giakoumakis drew level last year and had to share the accolade but if Kyogo Furuhashi has his way, that award will be all his come May.

Our diminutive attacker has been a breath of fresh air since he made his journey all the way from the J-League and has taken to the club like a duck takes to the water. He has a very unique and special bond with the supporters and he never forgets to acknowledge their immense contribution to the collective cause.

Today was yet another example of that, as the Japan international posted a picture of himself doing his trademark celebration to the hoardes of Hoops fans in Perthshire this Sunday. He captioned above the photograph online: “Celtic at its best.” I think we can all quite agree, Kyogo!

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
