Transfer Alert – Gangwon FC winger on his way to Celtic, club confirms

Gangwon FC have confirmed that their winger, Yang Hyun-jun is well on his way to Celtic Park. This comes after a report yesterday that stated a financial package had been agreed with his club which will cost the Hoops around £2.1 million and he will start making his way to Glasgow after their next match against FC Seoul today.

It comes after a few frustrating weeks for both the player and club as Yang was desperate to sign for the Scottish Premiership Champions but his club Gangwon were determined to keep him until the end of their domestic season, as they are currently embroiled in a relegation dog-fight in which they sit 11th out of 12 places.

However, it appears now that Celtic will get their man after some patient and very protracted negotiations with the South Korean’s employers. Voted Young Player of the Year in his homeland, the winger has bags of potential and at just 21-years-old, Brendan Rodgers will have the opportunity to turn him into a top-class operator.

Exciting times lie ahead!

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
