Nine years since Calmac’s scoring debut, Tav’s big talk

James Tavernier, captain Tav, the blue Cafu and serial loser has fired the first shots in the title race declaring his side are stronger, fitter and even taller than before.

You’d think James would keep his mouth shut as he’s seen this movie before, but there’s something inside Ibrox that makes folk spout utter nonsense, whether they believe it or not is a different story. Both players and supporters are truly and utterly deluded.

Tav’s two medal haul has seen him inducted into theRangers hall of fame. While over at Celtic our back up right back Anthony Ralston has played just 78 times for Celtic, and in that time has collected more than double the medals than Tav. That’s the level.

And it took Celtic’s other right back. Alistair Johnston just five months in Scottish football to win more top flight medals that the hapless captain of theRangers, who has only ever won one trophy in front of the new club’s supporters.

Our own skipper, five time treble winner Callum McGregor is currently hard at work training in preparing for the new season. He doesn’t need to fire out any title warnings as he’s seen and done it all before. Like always he’ll do his talking on the pitch and after signing a new five year contract extension has every chance of finishing his career as the most decorated player in Scottish football history.

And talking about Callum McGregor, today marks the 9th anniversary of his debut for Celtic under the guidance of Ronny Delia, in a tricky Champions League qualifier, first round match in the capital of Iceland on 15th July 2014. The game ended KR Reykjavik 0:1 Celtic and Callum McGregor scores the winner on his Celtic debut.

Calmac – a winner from the very start and to this day, his last job of the old season was to lift the Scottish Cup to complete yet another treble – no player in world football has won as many trebles as the current Celtic captain.

Yet will we hear him shouting his mouth off ahead of a ball being kicked in anger in the new campaign? Of course not and the reason why? Callum McGregor’s got class.

An ordinary everyday Celtic supporters hailing and still residing in Govan in the shadows of the enemy. I’m a season ticket holder. I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Star colleagues.

Serial loser is inducted into some kind of hall, for what? Taking dozens of penalties, taking free kicks and corners. Certainly not for his defending, he is decidedly poor.Wait till the even stronger Celtic get going against him and the rest of the dross around him.Skelping time, again.
