Transfer Latest – Adam Montgomery joins Fleetwood Town on season long loan

Celtic defender Adam Montgomery today agreed to join Scott Brown’s Fleetwood Town on a season long loan from the Scottish Champions.

The north-west of England League One side released the following update via their official website.

Fleetwood Town are delighted to announce highly sought-after full-back Adam Montgomery has joined the club on a season-long loan deal from Scottish Premiership champions Celtic.

The 20-year-old arrives after a successful loan at St Johnstone in the last campaign where he featured in 33 games, scoring once and assisting a further four goals during his time there.

Montgomery, who is contracted with Celtic until the summer of 2025, is well-versed in first-team football as he has also played 20 times for Celtic, eight more times for Aberdeen, and has won two trophies already in his career.

Celtic also confirmed the move on their social media channel.

A season working with Scott Brown at Fleetwood Town is probably the best move for Adam Montgomery and the former Celtic captain will do all that he can to develop the player ahead of him returning to Celtic in next May.  Clearly Broony knows what it takes to succeed at Celtic and will be in regular contact with Brendan Rodgers about the progress that the player is making under his watch at Fleetwood.
