As things currently stand, Celtic are reluctant to allow Luis Palma to leave the club in the January transfer window…
That position could change if Brendan Rodgers is able to secure the signing of a new winger but with James Forrest currently sidelined through injury and Celtic having an incredibly hectic fixture schedule over the course of this month, the Celtic manager will resist any attempts to lure Palma away.
Palma’s days at Celtic are numbered
It’s clear that Palma’s days at Celtic are numbered and with significant interest from the likes of Italian side Genoa and Greek outfit Olympiacos plus numerous clubs from the MLS, it would probably be best to move the Honduran on sooner rather than later.
Celtic’s first pick winger are currently Nicolas Kuhn and Daizen Maeda with Yang and Palma as the two back-ups. Neither back-up has impressed this season and even at Ibrox on 2 January and with Celtic chasing the game, the manager didn’t look to Palma or Yang to influence the match.
Headlines in Honduras
Palma has been receiving widespread coverage in the media in his homeland with headlines like Palma ending his Celtic hell and so on, with frequent references to the Scottish weather.
Today Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph this morning posted an update on the Luis Palma situation as it currently stands at Celtic. He reports…
Genoa and Olympiacos have expressed an interest in Celtic winger Luis Palma. It’s understood Celtic are not keen to let the Honduras international leave at this stage, with James Forrest still out injured for a while. Celtic are in the market for a winger this month.
