Treble of awards for Celtic’s Caitlin Hayes

Caitlin Hayes has been named Celtic’s Women’s Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year and PFA Scotland Player of the Year following an impressive season.

The 27-year-old has been excellent this season as she has helped the team towards success in the league and in the cup. Highlights include the last minute equaliser against Rangers, which could prove to be vital come next weekend.

The defender started the game in the midweek win over Glasgow City as captain and there is little doubt that her peformance was a big factor in turning the game on its head and sealing a 3-1 win. For Hayes, she will be concentrating on next weekend’s finale to the SWFL season with a game at home to Hearts.

Fran Alonso’s team are currently in third due to goal difference but if they win and Glasgow City do not win, they would be crowned Champions (provided that they outscore Rangers by 1). Thereafter, there is a Scottish Cup Final to look forward to as Fran and his team look to win a Double, which would be a tremendous success considering that they are dwarfed in budget by the Ibrox club and City.
