Two Celtic players named in Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad

Steve Clarke has named two Celtic players in his Scotland squad for the forthcoming friendlies against N Ireland and the Netherlands. Defenders Greg Taylor and Tony Ralston have been called up for the games.

The Celtic duo will look to impress and earn a spot in the squad for the European Championships in Germany this summer. The notable absence from the squad is Celtic skipper Callum McGregor, who is currently out injured with an Achilles injury.

Former Celtic player Craig Gordon, Jack Hendry, Ryan Christie, Stuart Armstrong and Kieran Tierney have all been included in the squad.

Goalkeepers: Angus Gunn, Craig Gordon, Liam Kelly, Zander Clark

Defenders: Liam Cooper, Grant Hanley, Jack Hendry, John Souttar, Scott McKenna, Ryan Porteous, Kieran Tierney, Andy Robertson, Nathan Patterson, Greg Taylor & Tony Ralston

Midfielders: Stuart Armstrong, Ryan Christie, John McGinn, Billy Gilmour,  Kenny McLean, Scott McTominay.

Attackers: Che Adams, Lyndon Dykes & Lawrence Shankland

It will be interesting to see who plays in McGregor’s role in the games as Clarke looks to make sure that his team are prepared if the Celtic captain is unable to make the Euros. Fingers crossed he is fit and firing not only for the Euros but Celtic’s title run in.
