Unique and Only Angle Video from Celtic’s 3-0 win against Hearts last night

Last night Fran Alonso’s talented Celtic side took care of the tricky fixture sandwiched between the two glamour games against theRangers when they travelled through to Edinburgh to play Hearts in the SWPL.

This was a must win match for Celtic especially with theRangers beating Motherwell and Glasgow City winning comfortably at Aberdeen.

Fran Alonso’s game management was excellent. He made half a dozen changes to the starting line-up from the 1-0 win at Murray Park at the weekend in the SWPL Cup semi-final to rest as many legs as possible for the weekend.

The significance of that game though depended on taking care of Hearts and Alonso’s plan was to get the points secure in the first half then game manage the second half to slow the pace down, keep possession and also make maximum use of the substitutions available to the shrewd Celtic gaffer.

So after 45 minutes with the score at Hearts 0 Celtic 3 that’s exactly how things played out. The first goal is always important in these kind of matches and you don’t really need us to tell you who scored it do you?

Okay we will anyway, Charlie “gets the ball, scores a goal” Wellings continues her run of scoring more goals for Celtic than games she’s played and is surely on track for a player of the year award? Watch her clinical finishing below.

Striker partner for the night Kathleen McGovern added the second with a powerful, confident and impressive finish and Jacynya showed great composure to make it three and wrap up the points, setting Celtic on course for the weekend showdown where a win will see them leapfrog theRangers?

One final point, why are bottom of the table Hearts getting more fans at their games that our free flowing, exciting Celtic FC Women side? Why not do something about that and get along on Sunday to support the Hoops in the Glasgow Derby as Fran Alonso goes for his fifth victory over theRangers in five matches?
