Unique Angle – The form we have found since Ange has been around

Celtic have once again released the unique angle highlights of all the goals from last night’s exasperating win up in Aberdeen. The night promised to be another foregone conclusion after going two goals up, before errors at the back saw us gift the Dons a way back into the picture. Our fears were subdued in the end, thanks to another wonderful goal from on-loan Benfica winger, Jota – making it a brace for him on the night.

Celtic really should have been home and dry considering the way in which we dominated in the first 45 minutes; a fact once more acknowledged by our leader and manager, Ange Postecoglou, which you can watch on The Celtic Star.

The early pace we have been setting in games has a danger of petering out in some instances, leading to a worried fanbase and a pensive second half of games at times. It seems to be the lack of the third killer goal that is the problem with Celtic these days. You only need to look at the games against theRangers and Motherwell to notice the difference once we get the treble of finishes before that half-time whistle.

Even so, the Jota goals last night up at Pittodrie were all worthy of winning a game of football. Jota’s first was just precise and measured passing, intricate as you like with a deft finish to put us ahead in the match. Teams really have no answer when we cut them open like this in full flow with our passing and movement.

The second from Matt O’Riley was long overdue for the young Englishman, as he pointed out after the match. Hes been getting closer with every game since he’s arrived at Celtic Park, and he took his opportunity last night with a shot from outside the box which got a fortunate deflection from David Bates. However, ‘he who dares wins’ and all that. You can also read and watch Matt’s thoughts on his goal after the game on The Celtic Star too.

Jota’s final finish to win the game and put us ahead straight after they drew level was another lesson in finishing well. A lovely, clean striker of the ball is the Portuguese player, and his half-volley past the Aberdeen goalkeeper last night showed one of many weapons he has in his arsenal. Despite the whinging for offside for Abada interfering with play, it was a goal worthy of winning such a match as last night’s. It also makes up for the wrong offside call against the forward earlier in the game when he was through on goal.

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
