USMNT official Twitter account’s brilliant reply to Celtic’s favourite player question

The Celtic media team asked their followers on Twitter earlier today who has been player of the season so far. There has been, as is usually the case with this Celtic team, a mixed response of answers to this question. Some say Reo Hatate, others think Greg Taylor and some say Jota. All these names carry validity, such has been the consistency from Ange Postecoglou’s side this year.

Amongst the replies however, one account did catch the eye; it was the United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) official account for Twitter and they had a very good, yet one could argue, very predictable answer in this instance. No name was mentioned, just a photo sent in reply to the question of the imperious Cameron Carter-Vickers!

The big man has been outstanding for the club so far this season and is the cornerstone of this current Celtic team. His display in a do-or-die match agasint Iran for his country was exceptional for being pitched in at the deep end and it was a crying shame he never got picked for the game against the Netherlands after they qualified from the group.

On the other hand, we are all so glad that the Essex-born American international will be returned safe and sound from any possible injuries that may have occurred has he played more. Cameron is far too important to be absent from this side and his influence on the backline is self-evident to anyone who watches the Bhoys.

I must say, USMNT official Twitter account, I concur!

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
