Video: 27 Years Ago Today, What A last Few Minutes!

On this day, 27 years ago, Celtic Park produced a magical Scottish Cup clash between the Hoops and Dundee United.

The visitors scored through Owen Coyle, who found the net from the rebound after his penalty was saved. Celtic looked set to crash out of the competition – a disappointing way to approach the end of season 1995/96. However, with two minutes remaining Pierre Van Hooijdonk scored a powerful header, following Jackie McNamara’s delightful free kick delivery.

Andreas Thom completed the turnaround seconds later, with a beautiful curling shot into the net from inside the box.

Celtic Park absolutely erupted. What a sensational atmosphere!
