Hearts v Celtic: team news, match officials, kick-off time & where to watch

Celtic face Hearts this afternoon in the Quarter Final of the Scottish Cup. Having beaten Morton and St Mirren in the previous rounds, Ange Postecoglou side travel to Edinburgh to face the Tynecastle outfit for the second time in four days, having beaten Robbie Neilson’s team 3-1 on Wednesday.

Celtic will look to book their place in the Semi Finals at Hampden, joining Inverness CT in the hat, who beat Kilmarnock last night.

Team News

Ange said to the media that the only concern from the other night is Daizen Maeda. The Japanese winger took a sore one as he bravely slid in to net Celtic’s equaliser. Unfortunately for Daizen, he was caught by Zander Clark in the Hearts goals. The manager said that the attacker was 50/50 to feature at Tynecastle but given that he was pictured using crutches, it may come too soon for him.

In goals, Joe Hart will continue behind the settled back four comprising of Alistair Johnston, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Carl Starfelt and Greg Taylor.

In midfield, expect Reo Hatate to return to the starting XI alongside skipper Callum McGregor and Aaron Mooy, with Matt O’Riley dropping to the bench.

In attack, Kyogo will continue through the middle following his MOTM display on Wednesday. Two players that impressed from the bench, Jota and Sead Haksabanovic will likely start in the wide areas.

Predicted XI: Hart; Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Starfelt, Taylor; McGregor, Hatate, Mooy; Jota, Kyogo, Haksabanovic.

Match Officials

Kevin Clancy is the man in the middle. Clancy is assisted by David McGeachie and Dougie Porter. David Munro will be operating as Fourth Official. Meanwhile, at Clydesdale House, VAR duty will be undertaken by Wullie Collum with AVAR duties undertaken by Daniel McFarlane.

Kick Off Time

The game kicks off at 12:15pm (Celtic Park time).

Where to Watch

The game will be shown on Viaplay with coverage beginning at 11:45am. Celtic TV subscribers outside UK will be able to watch the match on the club’s streaming platform.
