Ange has refused to downplay the occasion of today’s game, in what will be his first Glasgow derby at Ibrox.
The Aussie joined Celtic in June, after months of negotiations to tempt Eddie Howe to Parkhead broke down – but there is not a tinge of disappointment with his arrival, as he has completely revolutionised the way the Hoops’ play within just two months of his arrival.
Ahead of his first derby day, the gaffer spoke to Sky Sports about the occasion – claiming he was looking forward to the experience.
“I’m looking forward to the experience, looking forward to the game. It’s a massive fixture for all sorts of reasons, but against a good quality opponent hopefully it’s a cracking game. I don’t think you treat it differently today, but it doesn’t mean that because you play a certain way or had certain results means it naturally flows to this.
The method so far has just been to throw them in; we’ve done that with quite a few of our new players and it seems to be working out okay! He’s an experienced guy, really keen to play obviously with Greg (Taylor) not coming up today, but I just thought with his experience even on the wrong side, he’ll be comfortable with it and it gives him a taste of what to come.
