Half-time talking points: Ralston solid as Celtic impress

There has been little to separate Celtic and Rangers in a hugely end-to-end game; but there has been one man who has been particularly playing superbly out there – Anthony Ralston.

Ralston received pelters from Celtic supporters when he came back into the side for his perceived uselessness on the right side of defence; however, with some brilliant performances, it appears he has earned his stripes – none more so than today, where he has been excellent.

Halting any real theRangers approach, and always being the man to sweep up any counter attacks, Ralston has also limited Ryan Kent – theRangers’ only decent threat – to just one shot, in which he hit the far post.

Elsewhere, Callum McGregor has been brilliant; his agility and awareness on the ball has given Celtic a much needed calmness in midfield, in which he has been the only standout player.

However, it has been a poor performance by a couple of players; especially Odsonne Edouard, who missed an absolute sitter – to Ange’s horror.

The Frenchman may just be playing his last game for Celtic after bids were made by Rubin Kazan, Bordeaux, Crystal Palace and Everton for his services – but if he was hoping to leave with a bang, he’s going about it the wrong way.
