Video – “Another Beauty” as David Turnbull doubles Celtic’s lead

David Turnbull scored a lovely goal to double Celtic’s first half lead at Tannadice against a Dundee United side who could hardly get out of their own half and took an absolute battering as Celtic piled on and agony and turned on the style.

The best thing that you could say from a Dundee United point of view is that they managed – somehow – to make it to the break only two goals down. Turnbull had two earlier changes to score and indeed did Kyogo and James Forrest but the former Motherwell midfielder made up for his second missed chance – a absolute sitter – bu scoring this beauty thanks to a wonderful through ball from the Celtic captain Callum McGregor. Yet the control from Turnbull, lifting the ball over their keeper, the spin and the finish on the goal line – a thing of real beauty.

Ange certainly enjoyed it…

The sitter a few minutes earlier was a strange one. Kyogo put it on a plate and with Turnbull just a few yards from the goal he opted to allow the ball to hit him and hoped it was enough. Why he didn’t just finish it off with a boot is something that he’ll no doubt be asked later. He held his head in the goal nets astonished that he’d not scored.

Still he certainly made up for it. The half time score is Dundee United 0 Celtic 2.
