Dundee United’s hardman Calum Butcher was on the bench for Dundee United today having just returned from his ban after getting a red card against Aberdeen. The Englishman was only on the park a few minutes when his sliding tackle on David Turnbull with both feet off the ground caught the Celtic midfielder’s shin. High, wild, reckless and dangerous. A leg breaking challenge that Sky Sports reviewed and reckoned if VAR had been iin play the referee would have issued a red card rather than a yellow.
We await the referee referee’s boss appearing in BBC Sportsound shortly to call out the poor refereeing decisions today which included a handful of wrongly called offside decisions mostly going against Celtic.
