Video: Bayo scores again, Celtic’s new manager has a decision to make

Vakoun Issouf Bayo has scored again for Toulouse, with his goal coming in the win over Chambly. The striker has eight goals and two assists in 24 appearances this season and is enjoying a purple patch, with six goals in twelve games. The Ivorian attacker was sent on a season-long loan to Ligue 2 as he clearly wasn’t fancied by Neil Lennon.

Injuries hampered his progress in Glasgow with the 24-year-old missing preseason before returning to fitness in time to sign for the Ligue 2 side. Two goals on his debut will have helped him get some confidence back. He has built on from that start and is regaining form in France. This purple patch in form will do the world of good for his confidence, which will have been hampered by a lack of game time and fitness in recent seasons. However, there will be a new manager in charge come next season when he may be asked whether he wants to return to Celtic or stay in France.

The new manager may look at Bayo as an alternative to what the club currently have at their disposal. Klimala, Griffiths and Ajeti are likely to be there next year but none of them appear to have much presence in the air. Bayo meanwhile is more of a target man, he would allow for an out ball and to batter about with tough defenders.
