Video – Benkovic joins ‘a really big club’, Bristol City

FILIP BENKOVIC this evening joined Bristol City on loan from Leicester City until the end of the season. Here’s his interview with the Championship side. The former Celtic loanee was contacted by Bristol City a few weeks ago and he hopes he can help them ‘do something big’ this season as his new club tries to win promotion to the Premier League.

Benkovic talked about his time at Celtic and in particular his European games and he believes his experience at Celtic will help him improve further at Bristol – nothing positive to say about his time at Leicester.

While Bristol City seemed determined to get their man, it is unclear whether Celtic tried hard or even at all. At the end of December, after the dreadful defeat to the Rangers, Peter Lawwell let it be known through his usual channels that Celtic would be active in the January window with an objective to sign the players that would ensure that Celtic would be in a position to win even game.

We go to Hamilton on Sunday probably having to change our preferred formation due to a shortage of fit central defenders. What was Benkovic’s position again?
