Video: Birthday Bhoy David Marshall Excels In The Nou Camp

It’s incredible to think that David Marshall turns 36 years old today. Many fans will have fond memories of him making his Celtic debut as a teenager in 2004. It was half-time when Marshall was thrust into the limelight after a good spell in the reserves, Rab Douglas having been sent off during a tunnel bust-up. Need I clarify, the opposition was Barcelona and the contest was a UEFA Cup last 16 tie!

Marshall saw out the second half without conceding and the Hoops won the game 1-0. Thereafter, Douglas was suspended for the second leg and so the youngster faced the daunting task of starting the game in the Nou Camp.

Celtic drew that game 0-0 to eliminate the Catalan giants. Marshall was outstanding, but don’t just take our word for it. Here’s some footage of his performance:

Many happy returns to David. We wish him the best for the remainder of his career.
