Video: Brendan Rodgers reacts to deserved win at Fir Park

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers reacted to his team’s dramatic win against Motherwell at Fir Park. The Irishman was delighted after Matt O’Riley’s 97th minute goal sealed the three points for the Scottish Champions. Minutes before, Luis Palma thought he’d won the points before Motherwell’s Blair Spittal struck to make it 1-1.

Rodgers, speaking to Celtic TV, was full of praise for his team after they showed great resilience to get the win on what proved to be a monumental day in the Cinch Premiership.

Rangers were beaten 3-1 by Aberdeen at Ibrox, which opens up a seven point gap between Michael Beale’s side and the league leaders. Celtic will, meanwhile, turn their attention towards Wednesday’s game against Lazio in the UEFA Champions League.

Meanwhile Thursday 19 October is going to be a very special day for The Celtic Star so please save the date…

John Hartson will be The Celtic Star’s guest of honour as we celebrate the launch of Matt Corr’s new book Majic, Stan and the King of Japan on Thursday 19th October at the Kerrydale Suite at Celtic Park. More information on the night and ticket details to follow…. Majic, Stan and the King of Japan tells the story of Gordon Strachan’s first dramatic and ultimately highly successful first season as Celtic manager and it was of course Big Bad John who scored the goal that won the league!
