Scott Brown has said that he and his teammates have let former manager Neil Lennon down by failing to arrest the slump in form and defensive frailties that have resulted in the Irishman resigning on Wednesday.
Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s game versus Aberdeen, the club captain says that it was a ‘sad day’ to see club legend Lennon leave the club, after two trophy laden spells as manager. Brown accepts that he and his teammates haven’t been good enough and ultimately that has contributed to Lennon’s tenure coming to an end.

Lennon will always be remembered as a club legend even if the memory of this disastrous season may distort the success that he achieved as both a player and as a manager. The players need to take responsibility but ultimately the mistakes come down to the manager and he had to go. Celtic now must rebuild and become stronger in the wake of Lennon’s departure as Dom McKay prepares a footballing overhaul at the club.
