Video: Celtic Knock Liverpool Out Of Europe, On This Day 2003

On this day in 2003, the Bhoys of Seville knocked Liverpool out of the UEFA Cup quarter final with a superb 2-0 win at Anfield.

Few gave Martin O’Neill’s side a chance of progression after drawing the first leg 1-1 at Paradise, but the Hoops had other ideas.

Alan Thompson got the ball rolling… under Steven Gerrard in the Liverpool wall and into the back of the net. Then, John Hartson scored an incredible second half goal to complete a memorable night.
