Video: Celtic loanee Jack Hendry on the end of horrific tackle

Celtic are stretched defensively and there may be a future at the club for Jack Hendry, who is currently on loan at Oostende. However, the player was on the end of a horrendous challenge in the win over Standard Liege at the weekend.

Jack Hendry steps out of defence to clear a rogue ball when he is taken out by Carcela of Standard Liege. The tackle, which is at pace and catching Hendry on the shin, could seriously hurt the defender and hamper his chances of making the Euros as well as a return to Celtic.

The attacker was sent off but it remains to be seen whether there will be any longer impact on Hendry, who had to leave the pitch.

The 25-year-old is entering the prime of his career but was never offered a chance under Lennon to prove his worth.

Oostende have offered Hendry the opportunity to get playing again, allowing him to prove himself to Celtic or potential suitors. Celtic need to make another decision on Hendry and it is likely that he will start the pre-season under new management before a decision is made on him.
